Simply changing the server's Transcoder temporary directory option to /mnt/ssd/plex does not seem to work, as transcoding files still show up in /tmp/Transcode after applying this setting. I am trying to use /mnt/ssd/plex (permissions 775 plex:plex) as my temporary directory, as it resides on a drive with much more space (and I've been running out as my server increases in use).

(edited on 14:06 (UTC) by can you help with Transcoder temporary directory? ProtectHome=true would be great to keep, but I suspect it caused those framework errors in the log, so it might be prudent to dig into that first. RestrictAddressFamilies=AF_INET AF_INET6 AF_UNIX I don't use all of plex's functionality, and I noted some errors that I could tolerate above, maybe strip the following entries from the above: LogsDirectory # Fails without netlink (netlink(7) - communication between kernel and user space) # I believe causes "Critical: libusb_init failed" which is fine by me. # Playback still works, so this appears to prove the sandbox is worthwhile. # Error starting framework core for /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plug-ins-c8bd13540/LocalMedia.bundle. # Error starting framework core for /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plug-ins-c8bd13540/HTbackdrops.bundle. # Error starting framework core for /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plug-ins-c8bd13540/Musicbrainz.bundle. # I believe this causes the following errors: Read/write access is required for path: /var/lib/plex/Plex Media Server" # Without StateDirectory=plex, ProtectSystem=strict causes "PMS: failure detected. # But I prefer to delete the symlink and let systemd create /var/log/plex as a normal directory. # /var/log/plex is normally a symlink to "/var/lib/plex/Plex Media Server/Logs" SecureBits=keep-caps-locked no-setuid-fixup no-setuid-fixup-locked noroot noroot-locked Given plex is proprietary software, is there any interest in using systemd sandboxing features? I've had success with the following as a /nf: Plexmediaserver: -allowRetries arg Whether we will allow retries Plexmediaserver: -version arg Version of the product Plexmediaserver: -sentryKey arg Sentry Key for the project Plexmediaserver: -sentryUrl arg Sentry URL to upload to Plexmediaserver: -model arg Device model string Plexmediaserver: -device arg Device string Plexmediaserver: -vendor arg Vendor string Plexmediaserver: -platformVersion arg Platform version string Plexmediaserver: -platform arg Platform string Plexmediaserver: -userId arg User that owns this product Plexmediaserver: -serverUuid arg UUID of the server that crashed Plexmediaserver: -directory arg Directory to scan for crash reports Plexmediaserver: Crash Uploader options (all are required): Plexmediaserver: Error in command line:the argument for option '-serverUuid' should follow immediately after the equal sign I checked journalctl and see this error message.

Always nice to have some free official content though. After using the wizard from, Plex hangs. Still waiting for the ability to haul doubles, even though convoys are easy enough. I was hoping any DLC would branch out the content, such as polish trucks, a Siberia map or something other than logs to transport (ex: return of the highway trailer). The A-969 is getting "fuel canisters" I guess this will be our first scout with refueling capability, or maybe it will just function as an increased capacity fuel tank. There will be a new asset called "E-7429 trailer hitch", which makes it that much more intriguing. Maybe it has to do with the vehicles "special feature" or the new medium log cart.

I'm wondering what "advanced trailer hitch for E-7429" means. IRL apperently very good off road but slow and not safe. ZAZ/LuAZ 969: a really weird looking duck with wheels car from the late 60's/early 70's. A nice truck from the late 80's, North Korea apperently uses them today MZKT-7429: an 8x8 tank transporter with modernized versions still in production by MZKT Looks like there will be some good stuff. If I am understanding their post correctly, there will be some unique add-ons for these vehicles, including 2 trailers compatible with vehicles currently in the game. Last week a "free DLC" was announced, scheduled for February release.
